Brain Healthy Ingredients: Bananas, Dark chocolate, Nuts
Serves: 1
Bananas may not be a major brain food, but they do offer a significant dose of vitamins B6 and C—both of which may promote better brain health. Dark chocolate and almonds both confer more significant brain benefits. Almonds are high in vitamin E, which may stave off Alzheimer’s and dementia. Just a half cup of almonds provides nearly 100% of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin E. And chocolate is full of flavanols, antioxidant compounds that have been associated with good cognitive health.
For an extra boost of flavor, try adding a half teaspoon of pure vanilla extract to the milkshake before you blend it. Adding vanilla really brings out the flavor of the chocolate and banana!
